Aurathai (pronounced OR-uh-tie) Sellas (pronounced say-yas) is the proprietress of our small specialty restaurant. Aura has well over twenty years in the restaurant business, including a thirteen-year stint at Red Lobster in Melbourne; the NCO Club at Patrick Air Force Base; two years as partner at a local Asian restaurant, one year at Yoshi's Japanese Restaurant in Baymeadows, and the past twelve years  as owner and proprietress of Taste of Thai, Jacksonville. Aura's culinary palate has been influenced by her origins in Nakhon Ratchasima (a.k.a. Korat) Thailand in the northeastern region, from where she hails.

We have garnered numerous accolades from culinary reviewers and the public over our history, including being awarded Water's Edge magazine's coveted Best of Jax titles in 2000 and 2001. Unlike the annual Folio competition, assignment of Water's Edge awards do not require advertising in their publication (all of our advertising is done through word of mouth).

Aura's son and restaurant manager, Justin Sellas, helps things in the front of the house run smoothly. Justin has well over a decade of restaurant experience in hospitality, including stints at Red Lobster, the venerable Columbia restaurant in Tampa, a local Thai restaurant, and of course, six years with Taste of Thai. Justin and the rest of the staff will instantly make you feel right at home with friendly, personalized service.
